Irish girl, 11, airlifted to hospital after being hit by car in Co Limerick

AN ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD girl has been airlifted to hospital after she was hit by a car in Co. Limerick.

The girl was left badly injured and was rushed to Cork University Hospital where she's now being treated.

Her condition was described as "serious".

The crash occurred at around 5.30pm on Thursday evening on the N24 near Pallasgreen.

The scene of the incident was cordoned off and examined by gardaí, but has since been reopened to traffic.

It's understood that the driver of the car as well as the passengers weren't injured in the crash.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and to those with video footage (including dash cam) from along the route at the time of the collision to contact them.
