Irish homeless charity appeals for sun cream during hot weather

AS temperatures soar in the Emerald Isle this week, Inner City Helping Homeless have appealed for donations for homeless people in Dublin.

The homeless charity has asked for donations of suncream, water and aftersun to treat people suffering in the hot weather without a roof over their heads.

The charity opened their appeal on Facebook, writing a post that read: "With plans in place to keep our homeless friends as hydrated as possible during this week we would appreciate any donations of water, suncream & aftersun. Our teams can distribute suncream during the day and the #ICHH outreach teams will bring aftersun at night."

The appeal comes following predictions from Met Éireann that temperatures could soar past 30° Celsius.

Siobhán Ryan of the State broadcaster said: "Wednesday through to Friday we’re going to see the hottest spell so far this year, with temperatures readily in the mid to high 20s.

"We’re probably going to see temperatures of 30-31° Celsius reached," she added.

Met Éireann adds that the warm weather will continue until the weekend.
