Irish Love Island star Maura Higgins tipped to replace Jeremy Kyle on The Jeremy Kyle Show

LOVE ISLAND’S breakout Irish star Maura Higgins could be set to replace Jeremy Kyle as the new queen of daytime TV.

ITV has been on the lookout for a viable replacement to The Jeremy Kyle Show ever since the controversial chat show was taken off the air.

And the Longford star could be the perfect replacement following a stint on the hit reality series that has seen her garner fans and praise from all corners.

An ITV source told Extra.ie: "Maura has literally moved the dial when it comes to Love Island numbers in England and Ireland.

"She has done everything, she has gone viral, and she has been brought up by charities as a poster girl for the modern woman.

"Even Piers Morgan has been giving out about her so you know that she is doing something right.

"ITV will be screen testing her when she gets out of the villa that is for sure and who knows what could happen."

The source went on to suggest Higgins could be viable replacement for Kyle given her status as a no-nonsense role model on the series.

"There is a vacant slot where the Jeremy Kyle show goes, if she plays her cards right she could land that," the source said.

"It is more than likely however though that she would be looked at for I’m A Celebrity and Dancing on Ice.

"Her accent may be her big hurdle for a major presenting gig but she it is definitely only the star if things for her."

In any case, Higgins has been tipped to earn millions from her appearance on the series, which has provided many of the show’s most notable highlights from this latest edition.
