Irish toddler, 2, killed by car at halting site named as tributes pour in

A TODDLER who died after he was hit by a car in Bray, Co. Wicklow yesterday has been named as Bernard Cash Joyce.

The two-year-old was rushed to Crumlin's Children Hospital after being knocked down near a halting site in Silverbridge at around 4.30pm.

Tragically, little Bernard was pronounced dead a short time later.

The driver of the car involved in the collision was uninjured.

Tributes to the tragic toddler have been pouring in on social media.

One person wrote: "RIP baby Bernard. Such sad news. A baby gone too soon."

Another said: "RIP baby. Such a young baby tragically taken too soon. Thoughts are with the family."

Gardaí have sealed off the scene and a forensic examination took place today.

A Garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision at Silverbridge, Bray, Co. Wicklow at 4.30pm on Tueday July 17th 2018

"The scene at is sealed off and the area is due to be examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators in the morning."
