Leo Varadkar brilliantly photobombed on first date night since becoming Tánaiste

LEO VARADKAR has fall victim to a brilliant photobomb during a first dinner date in three months.

The new Tanaiste was enjoying a well-earned night out with partner Matthew Barrett at Las Tapas De Lola on Wexford Street in Dublin, this past Saturday, July 4, when the incident occurred.

Eager to capture a picture of the occasion for posterity, Varadkar and Barrett posed for the picture in front of an appetising meal featuring plenty of familiar Spanish favourites.

The sweet picture served another purpose too, with Varadkar urging the public to go out and do their bit to support local businesses during this testing time.

Wonderful to be back in @LasTapasDeLola to enjoy a meal out. Please support your local businesses to help people get back to work,” he wrote.

Unfortunately, Varadkar’s message ended up getting diluted a little after followers spotted a visibly delighted man, grinning from ear to ear, outside the restaurant.

Casually enjoying a pint with friends, the unknown man couldn’t resist the opportunity to photobomb the former Taoiseach.

His efforts were applauded on Twitter.

"Look at the fella outside the window, he’s only delighted,” one follower wrote.

"Loving the photobomber,” another added. “They'll be more infamous than you two tonight."

Put this lad in charge of Fine Gael’s social media - what a photobomb,” a third declared.

A fourth user meanwhile summed up the general mood: "The best part of this is the photobomb in the background."

A star is born.
