Little Irish girl, 3, dies after alleged assault at south Dublin home

A THREE-YEAR-OLD GIRL who was on life-support following an alleged assault at her home in Dublin on Saturday has sadly died.

Emergency services were called to a house at Aubrey Grove, Shankill at around 4.15pm on February 10.

The seriously injured child was taken to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin, where she was placed in an induced coma.

However, her life-support was switched off on Tuesday morning and she was pronounced dead last night.

A woman in her 40s has been charged with assault causing harm to a child under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.

She was remanded in custody and is due to appear again at Bray District Court on Thursday.
