ARE you an Irish dancer, musician or poet? Do you want the opportunity to perform live in front of cheering crowds?
If so, you could be a part of this year's huge St Patrick's Day celebrations in London, when the Underground turns green to mark the annual event.
A number of tube stations will host live performances showcasing Ireland’s cultural heritage and the country's links with London, and you could be at the heart of the festivities, entertaining tourists and Londoners alike with your musical talents.
The Irish Embassy in London and Transport for London (TFL) are teaming up to bring the event to the English capital, which aims to showcase the best of the Irish in Britain.
For visitors who want to travel back through history, a special exhibition will also be held at Moorgate Station to commemorate the contribution of Irish construction workers to the development of the Underground and London’s rail networks.
The events will take place on Saturday, March 12 and Sunday, March 13, to coincide with the London St Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade.
The Irish Embassy and TFL are calling on individuals or groups of performers to volunteer, including: traditional Irish musicians of all ages, storytellers, dancers, and writers for an Irish poetry corner.
