Man, 30s, and woman, 60s, die in separate car crashes in Cork

A MAN and a woman died in Co. Cork on Wednesday after being involved in separate car crashes.

The woman, believed to be in her 60s, was killed following a collision on the road between Brandon and Carhoon.

She was the passenger of a car which crashed into a truck near Baxters Bridge at around 12.30pm yesterday.

The driver of the car, a man in his 60s, is understood to be in a serious condition in hospital.

The road has since been closed and gardai are asking for any witnesses who were in the area at the time to come forward.

Meanwhile, a man in his 30s was killed after his motorbike collided with a van near Dromahane, near Mallow.

The road has also been closed and forensic investigators have examined the scene.
