Messages of condolence for Karen Buckley set for Cork

MESSAGES of condolence from Scotland will be with the family of Karen Buckley in Cork soon.

In the wake of Karen’s death, books of condolence were opened in Glasgow Caledonian University, as well as among the Irish community in Glasgow.

The Comhaltas and Conradh na Gaeilge groups, who operate from premises on Daisy Street in the Govanhill area of the city, still have their book of condolences on display for people to view and sign.

“Nothing is decided yet on when we will send it to Karen’s family,” said Theresa Gallagher-Murphy, of Comhaltas, “so it’s still there for anyone who wants to sign it.”

Meanwhile, the GCU book, which holds thousands of signatures and messages of sympathy, has now been sent to the grieving family in Cork, although their online version remains open.

Several books that were set up around Cork following Karen’s death have already been sent to the family – who have asked for space, as they grieve.
