Multiple injured following brawl in Ulster which involved 50 people and police officers

A CROWD of drunk and disorderly fighting in the early hours of this morning called for restrictions by the PSNI.

The brawl, which broke out on the main street of Antrim town involved a large number of people physically fighting each other.

In the area of Ballyclare, 50 people had gathered as part of the brawl when chaos broke out.

According to The Journal, when PSNI arrived at the scene of the brawl to sort out the violence, in doing so they arrested a 23-year-old on suspicion of charges such as consuming drink or drugs while in charge of a vehicle, assaulting police and criminal damage.

At this point of the incident, the crowd began to attack police.

Inspector Ferguson of the PSNI said one man had been arrested while the young man arrested was in custody: "CS spray was then used to restrain a 36-year-old who was subsequently arrested on suspicion of disorderly behaviour. He was released pending report...

"The 23-year-old remains in custody, helping us with our enquiries."
