Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge reveal name of their third child

THE DUKE and Duchess of Cambridge have revealed the name of their newborn son: Louis Arthur Charles.

Kate Middleton gave birth to the couple's third child on Monday April 23, with the baby weighing in at 8Ib 7oz.

William and Kate then presented their new son to the public on the steps of the Lindon Wing at St Mary's hospital in Paddington, just seven hours after his birth.

However, the couple had kept the world waiting before announcing the name, with the news coming four days on from Louis' birth.

Kensington Palace issued a formal announcement of the baby's name this Friday morning.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son Louis Arthur Charles," Kensington Palace said in a statement.

"The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge."
