Puppies bound for Britain are seized at Irish port

THE REVENUE has seized three puppies and an adult dog at Dublin Port that were bound for Britain.

The German Shepherds were discovered after a British national was stopped and questioned during a routine check.

None of the dogs had pet passports or microchips as required by law.

The animals are now being cared for by the DSPCA.

A follow-up investigation is ongoing.

On Friday, 27 puppies and young dogs were returned to Ireland after being discovered concealed in a van at Cairnryan ferry port in Scotland.

They are now being cared for by the ISPCA.
