Tragedy as London Irish parents of six die in car crash

TWO Irish parents of six children have died in an early morning car crash in Surrey, it has emerged. 

Nancy and Patrick Ward, who have roots in Castlebar, Co. Mayo but were based in London, were travelling home from a wedding in the early hours of Saturday morning, July 15.

The couple, who were members of the Travelling community, have six children between the ages of three and 16.

Many took to social media to pay tribute to the couple, with one person saying: “So very sad, may they rest in peace. God bless their children.”

Another added: “RIP Patrick Ward and his wife Nancy who died last night. God help their children and families at this hard time.”

The couple were driving on the M25 shortly after 3am when their black people carrier collided with a HGV.

Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after two people died in a collision on the M25 earlier this morning.

Officers from Surrey Police attended the scene at the M25 junction 12 where the two vehicles collided.

Sadly both Mr and Mrs Ward died at the scene.

While a third vehicle was also involved, the occupants of that vehicle, and the HGV, were uninjured.

The scene remained closed for seven hours while police carried out investigation wok and emergency services recovered the vehicles.

Surrey Police have appealed to anyone who saw the collision or may have dash cam footage of the accident to come forward.
