Two arrested after man stabbed in Dublin this afternoon

TWO people have been arrested after a man was stabbed in Dublin this afternoon.

The incident took place on Essex Quay in the city centre at around 4.40pm.

The man, aged in his late 20s, was taken to St James’s Hospital although his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A man and woman, also in their 20s, were arrested at the scene and are being held at Pearse Street Garda Station.

Gardaí closed off part of the south quays following the incident to carry out a technical examination.

The closure brought traffic to a standstill however the area has since reopened.
