Two men sentenced for robbing elderly nun as she left church

TWO men have been sentenced for robbing an 85-year-old nun as she left church.

Matthew Goodwillie, 23, and Adam Fenton, 20, both pleaded guilty to the robbery, which took place on Cottingham Road, Hull, on Saturday, November 23, 2019.

The pair rode by on a moped before grabbing the nun's handbag, causing her to fall on the ground.

Humberside Police said the "particularly nasty offence" has had long-lasting effects on the victim.

The pair were sentenced at Hull Crown Court last week.

Goodwillie, of William Street, Hull, received five years 11 months in jail, while Fenton, of Cambridge Street, Hull, was given a 24-month suspended sentence.
