URGENT: Child Rescue Alert for missing girl at "immediate and serious risk" in company of man

GARDAÍ HAVE issued an urgent Child Rescue Alert for a 14-year-old girl who is in the company of an 18-year-old man.

Svetlana Murphy left her her home on Coast Road, Blackrock, County Louth on Monday, 19 April and has been missing for three days.

Following further investigations into her disappearance, officers from An Garda Síochána now believe there is an "immediate and serious risk" to the health or welfare of the teenager and have issued a Child Rescue Alert nationwide.

She is described as 5 foot 1 inch in height with a slim build. She has brown hair and brown eyes. At the time she went missing, Svetlana was wearing navy tracksuit bottoms with a red and white stripe on the leg, a black zipped top and black runners.

Svetlana is in the company of 18-year-old Nojus Maculevicus, described as being 6 foot in height with a slim build. He has dark brown hair and he is clean shaven.

When last seen, Nojus was wearing dark grey Snickers work trousers and a black Snickers top. He may also have been wearing a khaki green hoody, and either black boots or Adidas runners.

Both are travelling in a silver Hyundai Veloster car, registration number 132 D 13518, seen in Newry, County Down at 7pm on the day Svetlana disappeared, and sighted yesterday in Belfast at 5.35pm yesterday evening, Wednesday 21 April.

Gardaí are not aware of the vehicle's whereabouts at this time, but are concerned that Svetlana is in immediate danger and have asked the public to assist the investigation however possible, by calling 999 or 112 with any information.

Anyone who may spot the teenagers are asked not to approach them but instead to immediately call 999 or 112, and not to contact the Garda Confidential Line as it is not manned 24/7.

Further updates on the case are expected throughout the day.
