Woman arrested in connection with murder of man found stabbed to death in garden

A WOMAN has been arrested in connection with the murder of a man who was found stabbed to death in a garden at the end of January.

Philip Doyle, 33, was found with multiple stab wounds in the front garden of a house in Gorey, Co Wexford, on 26 January last.

Emergency services were called, but despite best efforts to save his life, the father-of-three was pronounced dead a short time later.

A woman in her 30's was later arrested and charged with his murder, but was released on bail following a court appearance on 27 January.

She had allegedly told Gardaí at the time that she 'didn't meant for him to die', according to The Irish Times.

Gardaí yesterday announced that they had re-arrested the same woman, Sarah Doyle, in connection with the incident.

She has since appeared at Wexford District Court charged with the murder of her husband and father of her three children.

The Irish Times reports that no bail application was made on her behalf and she will remain in custody before a further hearing via video link next week.

Philip Doyle, 33, was found unresponsive in the front garden of a property in Ramsgate Village, Gorey, just before 2am on Sunday, January 26.

Gardaí discovered his body after responding to reports of an incident at the same house.

At the time, Gardaí confirmed they were investigating "all of the circumstances surrounding" his death with an incident room set up at the nearby Garda station.

His wife, Sarah Doyle, was arrested a short time later.
