Four teenagers arrested in connection with alleged rape of 14-year-old girl in County Wexford

GARDAÍ HAVE arrested four teenage boys in connection with the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl in Courtown, County Wexford in July of this year, according to a statement released by An Garda Síochána today.

One adult and three juvenile males are being investigated in relation to the alleged sexual assault which took place in the Burrow area of Courtown Harbour, Gorey, County Wexford on the 28th July 2019 at approximately 12:15am.

The suspects are being held for questioning in separate Garda stations throughout the South East of the country.

Gardaí are today (Thursday October 3rd) continuing to appeal for information from anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the reported serious sexual assault.

Investigations are ongoing, and Gardaí have asked people to keep in mind that the injured party and three of those under investigation are under the age of 18.

Gorey is just over an hour from Ireland's capital city of Dublin and is popular with tourists and young people due to its sandy beaches, especially in the summer time when the alleged assault took place.
