Woman dead following road collision in Ulster

The woman was in her 70s.

A truck and a pedestrian collided at approximately 12pm on September 27.

Gardaí are investigating the incident which occurred on Main St, Carrickmacross in County Monaghan.

The victim, a female pedestrian was fatally injured in the collision and pronounced dead at the scene.

She was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.

Diversions are in place and the road will remain closed for technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators at scene.
