Young male passenger tragically dies in two-car collision in Meath

A YOUNG man has died following a two-car collision in Kells, Co. Meath last night.

The 24-year-old was a passenger in one of the cars involved in the incident, which occurred at Boynabought, KIlmainhamwood at around 8pm on Friday.

The male driver of the car the deceased was travelling in, also aged 24, as well as the male driver of the other vehicle, were taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and diversions are in place.

The coroner has been notified of the death.
