Big Sam Allardyce bizarrely tears into Michail Antonio as he leaves West Brom job

A VERY strange post-match interview from Big Sam.

West Ham defeated West Brom in a crucial game for the Hammer on Wednesday night.

The game finished 3-1, with Michail Antonio scoring the third in a win that means West Ham's European dream is not yet dead.

After the game, West Brom manager took issue with some of the comments made by Antonio in his own post-match interview.

Antonio, quite harmlessly, suggested that playing against West Brom will involve playing against some "big players" running into the channels.

Allardyce heard these comments, and was not one bit pleased, describing them as "disgusting" and "crap".

He said: "He insulted me and my team."

"I know he’s a nice lad but it’s disgusting what he said. I think he should go back and watch the game and see how really played. Our front two are 5ft 10 and 5ft 9 so I don’t know what big men he saw running in the channel."

The fascinating interview also saw Allardyce reveal he will leave the relegated club at the end of the season, as he feels he is not the man to bring them back to the Premier League next season.

Big Sam mustn't have heard Antonio also suggest that his side were playing "free-flowing football"...

Allardyce began his career in management in Ireland, acting as Limerick's player/manager back in 1991.

The 66-year-old has consistently worked in football ever since, even managing England for a very brief period.
