Dublin youngster Shane Flynn signs new deal with Leicester City

TALK ABOUT a good Saint Patrick's Day for young Irishman Shane Flynn.

Leicester City have announced that youngster Shane Flynn from Dublin has signed a new deal with the club.

He joined the club's academy in 2018 from Bray Wanderers.

Flynn said: "Very happy to have signed a new deal with the club! A big thank you to everyone who has helped and supported me along the way."

Flynn’s standout performances have seen him rewarded with a place on the First Team bench against Brighton in the Premier League, while he was also part of Leicester City’s UEFA Europa League squads earlier this season.

His position on the bench against Brighton led to him calling out Sky Sports for having his name down incorrectly on their team sheet.

Proper order.

Announcing Flynn's new deal, the official Leicester City website wrote: "He has enjoyed an impressive season so far, scoring the equaliser against Salford City in the EFL Trophy to take the game to penalties, which the Foxes subsequently won to progress to the Third Round of the competition."

Leicester have solidified themselves as one of the biggest clubs in Europe over the past number of years, and currently sit in third place in the Premier League.
