Dwight Yorke believes Kane at Bayern would be 'concerning' for Manchester United

Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke believes that it would be 'concerning' if England and Spurs striker Harry Kane made the move to Bayern Munich this summer instead of his former club Manchester United.

United are in search of a number 9 this year and Kane is top of the list. However Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy will not allow Kane to leave unless a mouthwatering fee comes their way.

There has been speculation that Kane could move to Real Madrid in Spain or to Bavaria in Germany, but with a Premier League goals record on the line, the descion to move abroad is not set in stone. Manchester United are still in the race.

Yorke, who won a treble with United in 1999 believes that his former side should do everything in their power to beat Bayern to Kane's services this year.

"If Harry Kane goes to Bayern Munich, it does concern me with the striker situation at Man United," said the United treble winner. " The striker position is probably the main reason that stopped us from getting close to Man City in the end. You can't play the game without a real number nine, even with Pep Guardiola's false nine before, the striker position is very traditional in the Premier League.

"With the Kane scenario, we should have spent €175.37m on Erling Haaland when we had the chance under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but we spent money on other players in different positions," added Yorke.

"I'm not saying to go and spend €175.37m on Kane but Man United should act like the big club they are and go make the deal happen.

"Bayern Munich is a huge club, so Man United will have to do what's necessary to bring Kane in, we know what he brings to the table, it's priceless."

The Premier League returns on the weekend of August, 11, 12, 13, and 14. Manchester United play Wolves on Monday, August 14.
