Eire Og: We took on Crawley and Brighton Gaels in the final round of the league. We went into halftime with a five point lead. We were quick off the mark in the second half with a couple of early points to increase our lead. Brighton had a bright patch in the second half, they reduced our lead to four points. Our full forward line was on fire with Aaron Perill netting two goals and Conor Nilan who played his first games since returning for University got one goal. Stand out players on the day where Joe, Aaron, Conor and Brian Dickney. Fulltime score 5-9 to 1-13.

We play in the first round of the Championship this Saturday 5th July against Tir Chonaill Gaels in Greenford at 4:30pm.

Moindearg GFC: We played two league games last week, which resulted in securing our place in the Division League 3 final.

Brighton & Crawley Gaels were our opponents on a warm Saturday evening in Ruislip.  A strong first half display meant we led 2-10 0-3 at half time. We faced a stronger test in the second half with Brighton & Crawley producing a spirited display. The final score was 4-17 2-08 with Darren Mc Gowan our stand out performer scoring 1-06 from wing back. We wish Brighton & Crawley Gaels the best of luck for the remainder of the season.

Last Wednesday we played Garryowen in Ruislip in what was a close encounter. We trailed 2-02 1-02 at half time, but a strong second half display ensured we earned a draw with the final score finishing 2-06 1-09.

Parnells Youth: Under 12s: Well done to Parnells under 12s who won the league on Saturday. After two fantastic games against local rivals St Kiernans and Tara’s,Parnells came out on top but were delighted to play against such strong and skilled footballers. Well done to all involved.

Under 16s: On Friday the under 18s met TCG, despite missing some integral players the score line was a draw at 2-4 to 1-7. Well done to all

Training continues at Northwick park playing fields Norval Rd, Harrow. Players who have paid their membership and are still awaiting their club tops will receive them within the next fortnight.

Round Towers: The Senior team beat a strong Neasden Gaels side on Saturday by a score of 2-10 to 2-7. Fine performances all round, with John Kelleher, Jason Wycherley, Brendan Towey and Conor Daly excelling.

Congratulations to reserve team also for a hard fought victory over Parnells by 9 points to 8 points again on Saturday. Strong performances by Alan Boyle, JP English and Eoin O’Connell on the day.

The next game is the Senior Championship first round proper v’s Kingdom Kerry Gaels at 6.00pm in Ruislip on Saturday 5th July.

St Brendans: The senior team had two games this week. On Tuesday they played Tir Chonaill Gaels in the league and lost 1-7 to 3-16 and then on Sunday they faced Cu Chullains, again in the league, and ran out winners by 4-7 to 1-10.

This Sunday July 6th the seniors begin their Intermediate Football Championship campaign when they face Tara at Ruislip in the Group stages. Throw in 3pm.

Congratulations to long time club supporter Enda Cullen who reached the ripe old age of 65 at the weekend and was shown the door by his place of employment. Apparently there was one hell of a party after he left the building.

On the topic of birthdays, happy 50th to club legend and former All Black Bernie McCahill, who eased past that landmark still moving like a 25-year old and looking no more than 30. Conrad Smith, you have been warned.

St Clarets: The seniors defeated Shalloe Pearse in the league by 4-14 to 1-10 at the weekend. Their next match is on Sunday July 6th against Moindearg in the Junior Football Championship. Throw-in is at 6pm in Ruislip.

The minor team received a walk-over from Thomas McCurtains last Friday in the Championship. Their next game is scheduled for Wednesday July 2nd against either Parnells or St Kiernans. We will email details when we receive them.

Training for U10s, 12s and 14s continues on Wednesday at 7pm.  Training is at the usual place at Hayes Rugby Club, Kingshill Avenue, everyone is welcome. For information contact Martin Hession on 07973 733072.

St Dympnas: The Hertfordshire Senior Football Championship gets underway this Sunday against Glen Rovers in Sundon Park at 3pm. All the months of hard work and training have been leading up to games like this. Best of luck to the team.

Underage. The club holds it’s annual Benny McCaffrey Club Day this Saturday at St.Josephs, Gardenia Avenue. It promises to be a fantastic day with football from u8s — u18s who play for the Benny McCaffrey Cup. There is a lot more besides to keep everyone entertained, with a bouncy castle, Irish dancing, music and lots more. It all gets under way from 11.30am

Well done to all the St Dympnas u14s and Chairman Mick Foy who were involved with the Hertfordshire Feile team in Mayo and Roscommon over the weekend. They reached the Semi-Final of the shield, where they narrowly lost out to Aghamore by a single point. They had some fine victories along the way and was a great experience for everyone who took part.

Best of luck to our Minor Board Chairman Gerry Fee who is cycling the Ring of Kerry for Leukaemia and Lymphoma research this weekend. It is a fantastic cause and they have already raised a huge amount. Anyone else looking to sponsor can still do so by visiting www.justgiving.com/lads-in-Lycra.

Tara GFC: Well done to our Tara boys and all the panel on the U14 North and South London Football Feile Teams and their management who traveled over to participated in the Feile in Mayo last weekend.

Tara summer camp will take place at Kingsbury Town Football Club on the Monday the 28th of July until Friday the 1st of August to finish up the camp with presentations. Tara Camogie club: Tara juniors faced John Mitchells of Birmingham in the 6th round of the junior Camogie League and emerged victorious by 14 points.

Men’s hurling and football training continues this Tuesday at 7.30pm & Thursday will be hurling only in Goodmayes.

Ladies Notes. Training this week as normal in West Ham Tuesday and Thursday 7pm. Ladies Provincial Championship match V Dulwich. It was a very tough game but the ladies had an excellent win 4-11 to 3-09 in Goodmayes.

Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes: Gabriel Francis Donahoe RIP: This Friday 4 July 2014 there will be a service at Ruislip Crematorium for the late Gabriel Donahoe at 10am.

Gabriel sadly passed away two weeks ago in Charing Cross Hospital after a short illness, he was a great supporter of our club and London GAA over many years. The crematorium is on Breakspear Road, Ruislip, Middlesex HA4 7SJ.

Food and refreshments will be served at Tir Chonaill Gaels club house following the service.

Juniors: Our junior team played Garryowen in the league last Sunday and failed to hold a half time lead eventually going down by five points.

Our forthcoming championship match is against Eir Og this Saturday.

Final score; TCG 2-10 Garryowen 3-11.

Under 21s: Our under 21 team were supposed to play in the championship semi final last week against Parnells but were given a walkover into the final.
