GLASGOW was a sea of green as Celtic fans took to the streets following their side's 6-0 win over Motherwell on Saturday.

The title was secured following Wednesday's 1-1 draw at Dundee United, however the Hoops had to wait until the final day to get their hands on the trophy.

They did so following a rout of Motherwell, with Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis each bagging a brace, while David Turnbull and Jota were also on the scoresheet in a 6-0 win.

It's the tenth time in 11 years the club have won the title and ensures a league and League Cup double in manager Ange Postecoglou's first season in Glasgow.

There was a sombre mood around Celtic Park 12 months ago as the Hoops meekly relinquished the title to Rangers, finishing 25 points behind their city rivals and without a trophy for the first time in 11 years.

However, there was a party atmosphere in the East End of the city yesterday as tens of thousands of fans took to the streets following their latest title success.

While the celebrations passed off largely peacefully, Police Scotland did reveal they had made six arrests during the evening.

Chief Superintendent Mark Sutherland, Divisional Commander for Greater Glasgow Division, said there had been an 'unacceptable level of anti-social behaviour and littering' but that 'there were no serious incidents or disorder'.

"There were some outbreaks of minor disorder and our officers acted swiftly and robustly to prevent escalation and protect safety," he added.

"Over the course of the evening there were six arrests for offences including assault and acts of public disorder.

"A further four people were issued with fixed penalty notices."

Celtic will begin preparing for the defence of their title with a preseason training camp in Austria in the first week of July, before travelling to the Czech Republic for a friendly with Banik Ostrava on July 13.
