AN IRISH athlete has produced an unbelievable finish in a 4x400m race, drawing a brilliant reaction from the commentators.
The spectacular feat took place in the final 100 metres of the race at the Universities Athletics Association Championships.
The University College Dublin had established a 30m lead into the final leg of Sunday’s race, but the gap began to reduce and out of nowhere Phil Healy of the University College Cork sprinted in front of her competitors to claim first place for her team.
Having started the lap in fifth place, Finn produced a remarkable run, stumbling as she crossed the line and falling face first onto the track, such was the enormity of her effort.
