The Aviva stadium will host a Celtic v Wolves clash this month

CELTIC and Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to clash in an exciting pre-season friendly match in Dublin later this month. The highly anticipated encounter will take place at the prestigious Aviva Stadium on Saturday, July 29.

Tickets for the match wen on general sale on Thursday at 9pm.

This match holds special significance for Celtic, as it marks their return to Dublin after a gap of several years. Their previous visit to the Irish capital was in 2016 when they faced off against the formidable Barcelona in another pre-season friendly.

A club statement read: "Celtic enjoy huge support across Ireland and have previously visited the Irish National Team’s home stadium for matches in 2016, 2013 and 2011, playing the likes of Barcelona, Liverpool and Inter Milan.

"It’s another opportunity for Celtic fans to gather in Dublin and see the Treble winners in action ahead of the new season and we are looking forward to another successful visit to the Aviva Stadium."

Originally, Celtic and Wolves had planned to meet in South Korea for their pre-season fixture. However, both clubs made the difficult decision to cancel their respective visits. Nevertheless, the rescheduled match in Dublin promises to be a memorable event for both teams and their supporters.

Before the Dublin showdown, Celtic will embark on a summer tour in Japan, where they will participate in matches against Yokohama F. Marinos on July 19 and Gamba Osaka on  July 22. Following their Japanese tour, the Scottish club will make their way to Dublin for their clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The kick-off time for the highly anticipated encounter at the Aviva Stadium has been set for 2pm.

The Aviva Stadium will also host Manchester United vs Athletic Bilbao in August. That game will take on the 6th of that month
