Cavan man Max Byrne may just have cracked the solution to the age old hangover problem with this beverage though.
Having made a name for himself on children's television in Britain, Max is putting his efforts into his new YouTube channel which he set up a month ago.
In his new video series, he tries Ireland's staple drinks while also inventing some of his own.
"The cabbage cocktail is a hangover and a cure in the one glass," he told The Irish Post.
Max has left his days of delighting audiences on CBeebies with his "useless but brilliant" videos behind and now plans to find the wackiest drinks to taste test for his latest video series.
As 'Leather Jacket Guy', Max retains his signature style but tackles decidedly more adult topics.
He tests his tastebuds with some of the more traditional drinks – like Irish porter – as well as some more outlandish beverages like the cabbage cocktail.
This one could well be the beginning of a health buzz for Max's videos.
"This is trying to put a healthier spin on what people are already drinking," he said.
In the video, he chucks some cabbage, whiskey and apple into a blender, seasoned with a squeeze of lemon and lime and a dash of water.
