Ireland’s Strictly Come Dancing pair survive to dance another week

IT WAS a close call for Ireland’s Strictly Come Dancing duo last weekend, as Jennifer Gibney and her pro partner Tristan MacManus had to fight for survival in the dance off on Sunday night’s live results show.

Week two of the competition saw all 15 couples perform, with the star of Mrs Brown’s Boys and MacManus tackling a tricky waltz to You Make me Feel Like A Natural Woman. After all the couples had danced, Gibney and MacManus were fourth from the bottom of the leader board with at total score of 37, while tennis coach Judy Murray and her partner Anton Du Beke were in last place with 35.

Yet, after the viewer votes were tallied and announced on Sunday night’s live results show Gibney and MacManus became the first couple to face the dreaded dance off.

Masterchef presenter Gregg Wallace and his partner Aliona were also in trouble after his Charleston to Hey Good Looking but after both couples danced again, Gibney was given a unanimous verdict to keep her in the show for another week by the panel of four  Strictly judges, while Wallace became the first celebrity to leave the show.
