Irish lad brilliantly recreates iconic Guinness advert while in quarantine

IRELAND'S EFFECTIVE lockdown has brought out the creative streak in a lot of people who have nothing to do but work on a project-- however silly-- and it means we get gold like this.

Carlow man Patrick Bermingham decided to put some of the boredom, isolation and extra time that quarantine brings with it to some use, as he recreated the iconic 1995 Guinness advert 'Anticipation'.

For those who think they don't remember the ad (but you do, everyone does, it stays etched in your brain forever) the ad shows a man eagerly passing the time whichever way he can while he waits for his pint of Guinness to settle-- mostly with some questionable dance moves-- while the Pérez Prado song 'Guaglione' plays in the background.

Everyone knows the almost two-minute-long wait for the perfect pint of Guinness is worth it, and that the anticipation of waiting is a big part of what makes Guinnes, well, Guinness.

Check out the original advert below...

And then compare it with Patrick's new version, uploaded to video platform TikTok last week.
