FANS of Downton Abbey won’t have long to wait to see some of their favourite Irish stars back on TV screens.
ITV has this week released the trailer of the fifth series of the period drama, which returns on September 21 in its usual 9pm Sunday night slot.
The latest series sees a host of familiar faces, including Irish actors Michelle Dockery, Brendan Coyle and Allen Leech, as well as introducing guest stars Richard E Grant and Anna Chancellor.
Dubliner Leech, who plays estate manager Tom Branson, has previously hinted about what’s in store for the coming series.
“We see the blurring of these lines between the classes, and of course the first socialist government comes into power, which Branson is delighted about,” he told reporters at the series launch last month.
“For the first time, Branson has an opportunity to see change from the inside out.”
