Hugh Jackman sends lovely response to Irish girl, 7, who sang him his song from The Greatest Showman

IT may only be January, but Hollywood star Hugh Jackman has already made one little Irish girl's year.

Emma, a seven-year-old from Lucan, Dublin, sang the song 'A Million Dreams' from Jackman's hit 2017 musical film The Greatest Showman earlier this week before her mam Jacqueline Cooney posted a video of the performance on Twitter.

Tagging Jackman in the tweet, Jacqueline wrote: "Ok Twitterverse, I need your help - my little girl is obsessed with The Greatest Showman and Hugh Jackman but silly me didn't realise this in time to get tickets to his show in Dublin - so she sang this for him instead!

"Please help me get it to him & make my girl happy!"

Classy as ever, the Australian actor replied a couple of days later with a heartwarming video message to his talented young fan.

"Thank you so much for singing that song. Thanks so much for being a fan. And never stop dreaming. Remember, life is what you choose to make it so make it fantastic!" he said.

Speaking on 98FM today, little Emma said she was over the moon at receiving a personal message from her hero.

"At first we were thinking of giving up but then a few days later he saw it and he sent a special message that I know he wouldn't have just sent to anyone," she said.

Jacqueline also spoke of her joy at receiving a response from Jackman.

She added: "I was pretty freaked out when I saw it yesterday afternoon. I was looking at something else and then it came up - 'Hugh Jackman mentioned you on Twitter'.

"I was expecting maybe a text or something but a video and what he said was so lovely and so genuine.

"Emma was so thrilled and excited to see his reply and loves him even more now. She said his video was very encouraging."

Hugh Jackman will bring his hit world tour to Dublin's 3Arena on May 30 and 31.
