A 10-YEAR-OLD child has been stabbed along with two others during a burglary in Co. Cork.
A woman in her 30s and one in her 40s also suffered serious stab injuries, while an 18-year-old is reported to have received minor injuries only.
The three stab victims were treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to hospital.
It's understood they all suffered wounds to the chest and upper bodies.
While the injuries are being treated as serious, they're understood not to be life threatening, however one of the victims may require surgery, according to the Irish Independent.
The incident occurred in the Mayfield area of Cork city around 11pm on Monday night.
A man in his 50s has been arrested in connection with the attack.
Gardai can question the man for the initial period of 12 hours, but it can be extended if detectives deem it necessary.
The scene of the crime has been cordoned off while a forensics team conduct an investigation.
