17-year-old charged with murder of Dublin man

A 17-year-old has been charged with the murder of Tallaght man Adam Muldoon at the weekend.

The body of 23-year-old Adam Muldoon was found at 6.30am on Saturday in Butler Park off Cheeverstown Road in Tallaght.

It is believed Mr Muldoon, who had a disability, was sleeping rough in the area.

The youth appeared at Dublin Children’s Court this morning in front of Judge John O’Connor.

He was granted legal aid and was accompanied by his grandparents.

The youth sat with his arms folded throughout the short hearing with his grandmother sitting to his right.

He was ordered to be detained at Oberstown Childrens’ Detention Campus and is due to appear at a sitting of the Children's Court in Tallaght on June 29.

Both grandparents hugged him before he was led from the court room, and his grandmother cried openly as she left.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for the family of Mr Muldoon.
