Northamptonshire man Shannon O'Boyle jailed for three years for intent to supply Class A drugs in South London

A DRUG dealer from Northamptonshire has been jailed for three years after being caught with more than 70 wraps of Class A drugs.

Shannon O’Boyle, 22, of Wellingborough, was arrested by officers from the Greenwich Gangs Unit as he left an address in Woolwich, South London in April.

When searched he was found to be carrying over seventy individual wraps of Class A drugs. Forty-two of the wraps contained crack cocaine and the remaining thirty-one heroin.

When interviewed O’Boyle admitted he intended to sell the drugs, citing the need to pay off a pre-existing debt.

O’Boyle pleaded guilty at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, April 19.

He was sentenced to three years in prison at Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday, May 31.

Detective Constable Andrew Payne from Greenwich Gangs Unit said: "The sentence should be a warning to those who choose to distribute drugs in Greenwich that you can expect to be caught and sent to prison.

"We want the community to feel safe in the knowledge that we have a zero tolerance to this type of activity, and we will continue in our robust and proactive approach to arrest and put before the courts to be held responsible for their abhorrent behaviour"
