Body found in search for missing 72-year-old Deirdre Kuntz

THE SEARCH for a missing Dublin woman has been stood down following the discovery of a body.

Gardaí have today confirmed that the search for Deirdre Kuntz, who disappeared on 19 June, has ended with the discovery of body believed to be that of the missing woman.

Gardaí have thanked the media and the public for their assistance in trying to find Ms Kuntz.

The 72-year-old was reported missing from her home in the Dun Laoghaire area on Friday, 19 June, and a photograph of the woman was circulated on social media in an attempt to locate her.

She was described in the missing person appeal as being 5'2" in height, of slight build and with shoulder length brown hair.

A worried family member had described the pensioner as "vulnerable" and had appealed to the public to help in any way possible.

The search tragically came to an end this morning as a body believed to be Ms Kuntz was located, Gardaí confirmed, adding that there is no further information available at this time.
