Crowdfund set up for London Irish GAA man who had leg amputated after serious road crash in Ireland last August

A CROWDFUNDING page has been set up for an Irishman living in London who had to have his leg amputated following a serious car accident while home in Ireland.

Martin's colleague Michael has set up the fundraising page which is aiming to raise £30,000 to help get their dear friend back on track in London.

Martin, while spending some time at home with family, was involved in a serious road traffic crash in Co. Louth last August. Despite being close to death and given a slim chance by doctors to make a recovery, Martin fought back and managed to pull through, albeit with some serious, life-changing consequences. Unfortunately, even with the best efforts of the doctors, Martin had to have his left leg amputated three weeks ago.

Martin is first and foremost a GAA man and has been described as a loyal and trusted club man with Harlesden Harps over the years. He recently represented London on their Masters side.

Martins family are now working towards getting Martin airlifted back to St Marys Hospital in Paddington, London for his continuing intensive care and rehabilitation and to be closer to his loved ones and family.

If you'd like to donate and help Martina and his family get their life back on track, you can do so here.
