Dublin girl dresses up as Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald for Halloween – and its scarily good

AN INVENTIVE Dublin schoolgirl has gone viral thanks to her scarily good Mary Lou McDonald Halloween costume.

Millie Mitchell Lynch, 11, is the toast of Twitter after sharing her inspired take on the Sinn Fein leader.

There may not have been any trick or treating this year but Millie still found a way to get in the Halloween spirit with a costume based on her favourite politician.

Her efforts did not go unnoticed either, with her grandmother Fiona sharing a picture of the results on social media.

“So my granddaughter dressed up as the one and only,” she wrote alongside a picture perfect snap of the mini Mary Lou.

Decked out in a red suit and black top, Millie’s costume comes complete with a necklace and earrings.

To cap things off, she’s even got a Sinn Fein sign along with a book about the Good Friday Agreement.

Something of a labour of love, according to the Irish Mirror Millie has been planning the costume since March and is a genuine fan of Mary Lou McDonald.

She must have been over the moon then, when the Sinn Fein leader caught wind of her doppelganger on Twitter and decided to retweet the picture.

Evidently impressed by the effort and attention to detail, she shared the snap alongside the caption: "I have serious competition! #MiniMe".

Here’s hoping Millie brings this look back for Halloween 2021 – it’s sure to go down a storm on the trick or treating trail!
