This Dublin pub is delivering freshly pulled pints of Guinness during the coronavirus pandemic

A DUBLIN pub is doing its bit to help keep spirits up during the coronavirus outbreak with a door-to-door Guinness delivery service.

Graingers Hanlons Corner on the North Circular Road has proven a hit with drinkers missing the pub but eager to adhere to Ireland’s strict lockdown measures.

For the past week or so, the Dublin bar has been delivering freshly-pulled pints of Guinness along with other beers, wines, bottles and cans to a thirsty, housebound public.

They also stock cigarettes and other pub favourites for anyone looking to recreate the magic of a good Irish boozer from the comfort of their front room or garden.

Staff are pulling out all the stops to stay safe too, with each and every delivery adhering to social distancing rules and hygiene rules.

Graingers Hanlons Corner first alerted fans to their Guinness delivery service plans via Facebook.

"We here at Graingers Hanlons Corner will deliver a freshly pulled pint of Guinness or any pint of your choice and deliver to your door!” they wrote.

"Health restrictions apply! You must collect from car door and will be served in a pint sized plastic glass!

"Call us today and order your wine, cans and bottles of beer and cigarettes for home delivery on 018384181 or 0872379014."

Their efforts have since gone viral, with fans across the capital taking advantage of the service to enjoy a perfectly poured pint of the black stuff – an increasingly rare commodity in these new restricted times.

It’s proven a hit too, with the pub and off-licence estimating it has delivered an astonishing 150 to 180 pints a day.

On top of that, Graingers Hanlons Corner is also doing its level best to keep the local community fed, with a special dial-a-meal service for anyone in need of food.

Now we’ll drink to that.
