Gardaí appeal for witnesses after man dies in Tipperary house fire

GARDAÍ are appealing for information after a man tragically died in a house fire in Co. Tipperary.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Authorities were called to the scene of a fire at a property on St Micheal’s Avenue at around 5am, where fire services quickly extinguished the blaze.

The body of a man - believed to be in his 30s - was found inside.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body reportedly remains there while a forensic examination is taking place.

Gardaí in Tipperary are now asked anyone with information about the fire to come forward and contact them.

"Gardaí investigating the death of a man in Co. Tipperary on October 27, 2020 are appealing for witnesses," a Garda spokesperson said.

"At around 5am, Gardaí in Tipperary Town received a report of a house fire at St Michaels Avenue, Tipperary Town.

"Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene and the fire was extinguished by Fire Services."

"The body of a man, aged in his 30s, was discovered inside the home. No other person was injured as a result of the fire.

"The body of the man is currently at the scene and a technical examination of the house is due to take place.

"Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have noticed anything at the time of the fire to contact Tipperary Town Garda Station on 062-80670."
