Irishman appears to urinate on Donald Trump's luxury golf resort sign in Co Clare

AN IRISHMAN has risked the wrath of Donald Trump by appearing to urinate on the sign for his luxury golf resort in Doonbeg, Co. Clare.

In a photo shared on Twitter, a man is pictured standing in front of the sign for Trump International Golf Links and Hotel with his back to camera, with the insinuation that he's 'marking his territory'.

Roddie Cleere, who posted the photo, cheekily tagged President Trump in the tweet. We await a response...

Trump has visited the golf resort - situated on Ireland's idyllic west coast - a number of times, including somewhat controversially during his first official state visit in 2019.

The US President was criticised for basing himself in Doonbeg, despite the majority of his engagements being in Dublin during his visit.

His resort has brought a number of job opportunities to the small Clare town, and Trump remains a popular figure in the area because of it.

It's estimated that the resort employs around 300 people.

During the first few months of lockdown, the resort was criticised for furloughing the majority of their staff, effectively forcing the Irish Government to front the bill for their wages, despite having a billionaire president as the owner.
