Man, 24, dead following pub stabbing

The man was killed just before midnight on Saturday night.

Gardaí at Mayorstone in Limerick are investigating a fatal stabbing which occurred at licensed premises at Sexton Street North.

The incident occurred at approximately 23.55hrs last night, July 7th 2018.

A 24-year-old male received serious stab wounds and was taken to University Hospital Limerick where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place today and the local coroner has been notified.

The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination. The Garda Technical Bureau are attending the scene.

No arrests have been made and investigations are said to be ongoing.
