Man arrested over murder of Romanian national in Dublin

A MAN in his 30’s has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 49-year-old Romanian man in Dublin last weekend.

According to the Irish Times, Gardai arrested a man in his 30’s today and he is currently being held at Tallaght Garda Station.

Ioan Artene Bob was found with series injuries by a passer-by in Sean Walsh Park in Tallaght last Friday 13 April at 8.30am.

He was taken by ambulance to Tallaght Hospital where he died a short time later.

Bob was a Romanian national and had worked in the construction industry in the Carrickmines area of south Dublin.

He had been in Ireland for three years and had a partner and a son aged eight in Romania.

He is believed to have died following a deadly assault.

A murder investigation was launched after a post-mortem examination was carried out.

The last confirmed sighting of Ioan was at 8.30pm on Thursday, April 12 in the Moore Street area of Dublin.

The suspect is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act.
