Missing pensioner who suffered from Parkinson's disease tragically found dead

THE search for a missing pensioner in Waterford has been called off this morning after a body was found late last night.

70-year-old Christy O’Sullivan was last seen on Friday morning in the Ardkeen Stores area of the city.

The former Waterford Crystal worker was wearing a blue shirt, light coloured chinos and a navy bomber jacket.

He lived in the Earlscourt area of Waterford city and suffered from Parkinson’s disease.

Locals and property owners in the area were asked to check their premises in case he decided to take shelter overnight.

The Irish Coast Guard helicopter, along with ground units, Waterford City River Rescue and other services were all involved in the search.

The search was called off this morning after gardai confirmed that the body was that of the local pensioner.
