Gardaí stop not one but two motorists with no insurance in Leinster

NOT ONE but two Irish motorists have been found with no insurance by the Gardaí - and to make matters worse is they're both friends.

In County Louth, a driver was stopped by An Garda Síochána for having no insurance.

The Dundalk Road Policing Unit were doing random checks when they found a motorist with no insurance, an offence that can lead to a court fine and 5 penalty points upon conviction.

When the driver was pulled over and presumably in need of help or a lift home, they rang their friend - who turned up in a vehicle that also had no insurance.

The incident resulted in Gardaí seizing two cars due to the negligence of the drivers.

Considering the driver already had the option of phoning a friend, the Gardaí running the Garda Traffic joked that motorist still had options remaining such as ask the audience or 50/50, much like the hit TV show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

Let's hope the pair didn't have a long way to walk home...
