One killed and two injured in multi-vehicle crash on Irish motorway

A MAN has died and two others have been injured in a multi-vehicle collision on the M7 in Co. Tipperary this afternoon.

A section of the southbound lane between Limerick and Nenagh has been closed following the three-car collision at Junction 27 Birdhill at around 2pm.

Local diversions are in place.

Two other drivers have been taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who were travelling on the M7 this afternoon to contact them.
