Pope Francis expected to tour through Dublin city centre on Popemobile during summer visit

POPE FRANCIS will tour through the streets of Dublin on his Popemobile during his visit this summer, according to reports.

The leader of the Catholic church will greet people on the streets of the city centre on August 26 after saying mass at Phoenix Park.

According to Dublin Live, the route could begin at the Garden of Remembrance, then down O’Connell Street, onto Dame Street and on towards Christ Church.

It’s the same route used for the St Patrick’s Day parade.

The route is believed to ensure both maximum capacity and maximum security.

The Pope will begin his visit to Ireland in the west of Ireland, with a visit to Knock Shrine.
