HORRIFYING FOOTAGE has surfaced of the moment a man violently threw his pet dog over a six-foot-high fence after the animal attacked his wife.
The disturbing incident, which took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, was captured on a nearby surveillance camera and shared on YouTube by Leste Online.
It shows a man, identified as Rodrigo Camore Dalla Justina, twice fling the dog high into the air before it lands with a sickening thud on the hard-concrete road below.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday, February 16,
A carpentry assistant by trade, Justina later appeared at a local police station after neighbours reported the incident.
According to the Daily Mail, Justina told the authorities he threw the dog over the six-foot fence after learning he had bitten his wife.
In any case, the authorities opted to file animal cruelty charges against him.
Speaking to Brazilian television station UOL, Justina did express some regret at his violent actions.
“When it comes to anger, we screw up, we regret it,” he said.
The dog has nevertheless been put up for adoption following the unsavoury encounter.
The good news is that he appears to have escaped the disturbing encounter relatively unscathed.
Taking to Instagram one of his rescuers, Armandhino Ferreiro, wrote:
“Today me and @del.brunolima rescued this puppy, took him to the vet and thank god he has no fracture.”
“He will have more tests throughout the week.”
