Teenager shot four times at home in ‘brutal’ paramilitary-style attack

POLICE are investigating after ‘dangerous and violent individuals’ shot a teenager four times in a paramilitary-style attack.

The shooting took place at the home of the 18-year-old victim in the Moneycannon Road area of Ballymoney, Co. Antrim in the early hours of this morning.

At around 3.30am, the attackers made their way into the young man’s house and shot him once in each arm and leg.

He has since been taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

PSNI Inspector Vince Redmond has appealed for information as they attempt to apprehend the perpetrators.

He said: “Our enquiries are at a very early stage into what was a brutal attack on a young man in his home by dangerous and violent individuals, and I would ask anyone with any information which could assist us to apprehend those responsible to contact detectives at Coleraine on 101 quoting reference number 324 23/09/18.”
