Two Irish men have been taken to hospital following seperate shootings

Gardaí are currently investigating two different shootings that have happened in the country's capital overnight.

In Dublin, two men have been hospitalised following being shot within hours of each other.

According to RTÉ, at approximately 11 pm on Friday night, one teenage man was shot at point-blank range in the head in Clondalkin.The victim was rushed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where it is believed he is in a serious condition.

Early on Saturday morning, at approximately 2 am a different man was shot, unrelated to the first shooting. The victim was badly injured when he was shot in the stomach by an unknown shooter in Barnwell Drive in Ballymun. The victim was brought to the Mater Hospital in Dublin.

It's reported that his injuries are fortunately, not life-threatening.
